How to find your place in the AFU
We’re launching a trial week at our recruiting center
During the one-week training course, you will define your weaker and stronger sides, you will find out how you can prove yourself most effectively in the AFU, and you will receive recommendations from our instructors for making a final decision.
If you realize that the army is not for you, you can halt the test and leave at any time.

A foreign volunteer fills out a form on the website.
A recruiter contacts the volunteer at a convenient time and conducts an interview. Before the interview, the foreigner sends his passport and the documents confirming their military service, if they have any.
In case of a successful interview, the foreign volunteer is informed where they should arrive in Ukraine: Kyiv or Ternopil.
After their arrival in Ukraine, they submit their documents for an official translation into Ukrainian, pass a military medical commission and the checks, fulfilled by Ukrainian law enforcement agencies. This takes 3 weeks in total.
While awaiting for the results of the checks, the foreign volunteer undergoes a 2-week military training at the base of the 3rd Separate Assault Brigade in Kyiv. During this time, the command of the brigade determines whether the foreign volunteer can join the ranks of the unit.
In case of a successful passing of the military medical commission, all the checks, and the 2-week pre-training, a contract is signed with the foreign volunteer. During the first 2 months, the brigade has the right to unilaterally terminate the contract if the foreign volunteer does not meet the requirements for service in the assault unit.
