The "Angels" Patronage service
— is a rear organization that cares for the wounded, freed prisoners-of-war, and fallen fighters of the Third Separate Assault Brigade of the AFU, as well as other units of the Azov movement.
The service is a unique structure with no equivalent in any other unit of the defense forces of Ukraine.
A UNIQUE
SERVICE
In 2014, during the war in the East of Ukraine, in response to the urgent need for systematic assistance for volunteers and their families, Olena Tolkachova, with the support of Andriy Biletskyi, the founder and first commander of the Azov battalion, established the Patronage service. This was the first organization in Ukraine to provide medical, social, and legal assistance to the wounded, arrange burials for the fallen, and support the families of military personnel.
With the beginning of the full-scale invasion in 2022, the service expanded its operations, having transformed into a fully-fledged unit, offering a wide range of aid and support.
The service provides care for thousands of military personnel of the 3rd SABr and other Azovian units.
Since 2014,
the Patronage Service:
– has been assisting the wounded with treatment, rehabilitation, prosthetics, and document processing. It accompanies each fighter from wounding to recovery and return to ranks or for as long as needed.
– has been handling the treatment of those released from captivity, their rehabilitation, and legal support, including document restoration and payments.
Currently, over 10,000 military servicemen from two brigades of the defense forces of Ukraine are under the care of the Service.
